Petition To Manufacturers

Welcome to The Campaign for Better Food Labels. Even though there are many types of interesting and useful publications on the Internet,
in magazines, medical publications, etc. it is still difficult to go to the local grocery store and know if the products you are buying is totally
gluten free. Even with current labeling laws, manufacturers only have to list certain allergens and even though this new law helps Celiacs to
shop easier when reading labels, manufacturers are still not required to list all ingredients, including barely, rye, spelt, and oats. We have decided to extend our  petition to the FDA and major manufacturers, in hope of persuading them to improve their labels by listing all
ingredients and not just those as required by law. Regardless of whether you are a celiac or not, everyone has the right to know what they
are consuming so they can make an educated decision when purchasing a product.. If you support better food labels; please sign the attached petition by submitting the following form.

I Support Better Food Labels

To Whom This May Concern:

I have Celiac Sprue, Dermatitis Herpetiformis and/or gluten intolerance and when purchasing your products it is very difficult to tell
whether or not it actually contains gluten. An example of this would be, most commercial products on the market contain ingredients
such as modified food starch, natural flavorings, spices, extracts and/or vinegar. It is not possible to tell with your labeling if the product
contains wheat and/or gluten, or any other allergen for that matter. I want to thank you for following the new FDA Guidelines requiring you
to list certain allergens, but you are still not consistently listing all items including barely, rye, oats and spelt; therefore, I am unsure of what
I am actually purchasing and consuming when I purchase your products.

I am writing to you on the behalf of The Gluten Free Kitchen and its supporters to persuade you to list on your labels, what ingredients
your products actually contain. An example of this would be modified food starch (derived from wheat, corn, etc.). I am also writing to
you as someone who has a disease that prohibits me from consuming certain ingredients, but in reality every consumer should be able
to read clearly and easily the ingredients that they are consuming when they purchase your products.

Thank you for your time and considerations.
